LTKR

Knee replacement on the left side is now complete, and Gaylord is well on his way to full recovery. Thank you to everyone who prayed for us during this process. In about six months we will return to South Africa to repeat the procedure on his right knee. Here is a glimpse of what the process looked like.

Clean Water

In our last newsletter, we mentioned our partnership with The Last Well, Water Sawyer Filters, Assemblies of God Liberia and Assemblies of God World Missions in providing clean drinking water to all of Liberia by the end of 2020. While providing clean water, we are also providing a presentation of the gospel. What an opportunity for all! (Thanks to one of our team members for the photos.)

Travel to most of the villages served are via motorbike and on roads very similar to this, especially during rainy season.

Our team arrives with filters, buckets and ready workers. Before the clean water project begins, a devotion about the living water and prayer is shared.

Then the installation and demonstration are conducted.

Prayers Appreciated

Gaylord and I arrived in South Africa last Sunday. This week he has met with an orthopedic surgeon, a primary care physician, had x-rays and blood work done, and will meet a physiotherapist on Monday. Everything is in order, and he is scheduled to have knee replacement surgery on his left knee Monday, August 1. Both of his knees are bone on bone, and he had hoped that they would replace both knees at the same time. The surgeon strongly discouraged this, citing the increased risk factors and the extreme difficulty of recovery and rehabilitation. So if all goes well, we may repeat this process on his right knee in a few months. Please keep us in your prayers in the days and weeks ahead.

Missions Message for Kids

We were happy to share about missions with children at Family Cathedral’s Summer Push, Jr Camp. We happen to be very fond of the children’s pastors there – Josh and Shelby Denman.

Philadelphia A/G–Gardnersville

Yesterday we attended the dedication and thanksgiving service at Philadelphia A/G, Gardnersville. Fredna pictured with Pastor Namu’s wife.

That moment when you realize what the heat and humidity have done to those shoes that were at the back of the closet.

To you this may just look like a roof, but to this congregation it is an answer to prayer before rainy season. Thanks to all our donors who made this, and all of the ministry we do here, possible.

Hold on, baby; we’re dancing!

The church gave us matching attire as a way of saying thank you. Gaylord has a theory that headdresses look much better on African women than white women. When he's right; he's right! (This actually would have been tied very differently if it were not just placed on my head in haste - though it probably wouldn't have looked much better.) You have to admit that I am a good sport to post this.
