I am recovering from the crash of my laptop hard drive. The first technician I took it to confirmed that the mother board was good but that the hard drive was gone – along with ALL of my data. Ugh! As I explored HP’s website, I was given hope that my model might fall under an extended warranty for a problem such as this. Of course, that failed to be the case. Not giving up hope, I took the damaged hard drive to another technician who was recommended to me, and, fortunately, he was able to restore much of my data. Praise the Lord, and thank you, Godfrey!
The most important data that could not be recovered was my Outlook information. That was huge, since I have come to use my computer as my portable filing system and office. I had an old data file from a year ago on my backup drive, so most of what is missing is the past year’s worth of information and correspondence.
If any of you have matters that I am supposed to be dealing with and am not, PLEASE remind me. If you sent me some hilarious email, PLEASE re-send it, especially the one about Texas wives. If you sent something truly inspirational, I would like to be inspired all over again, PLEASE. Any updates to emails or addresses in the past year, I need, so PLEASE send.
I think you catch my drift. I want to stay connected, so I need for you to send me what I lost.
Lesson learned: backup Outlook file to external drive as regularly as you do photos and documents.
